Kickstarter Funded, Fran Kranz Starring ‘Lust For Love’ Hits VOD On February 7th, Watch The Trailer Now!

Briefly: I’m not usually a big proponent of the beyond tired romantic comedy genre, but I am a sucker for Fran Kranz, and Lust for Love actually looks pretty good.

The independent film was actually a successful Kickstarter campaign back in 2011, raising $101,o3o of its $70,000 goal, and it’s finally set to hit VOD on February 7th. Lust for Love stars starring Joss Whedon alumni Fran Kranz (The Cabin in the Woods, Dollhouse), Dichen Lachman (Last Resort, Dollhouse), and Beau Garrett (Tron: Legacy), as well as additional Whedon alum Enver Gjokaj (The Avengers, Dollhouse), Miracle Laurie (Dollhouse), and Twitter-sensation Felicia Day (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Dollhouse).

Again, I usually attempt to avoid romantic comedies like the plague, but Lust for Love looks like a lot of fun. Plus, it’s probably time to let my girlfriend “pick” a movie anyways. Take a look at the trailer below, and let us know what you think!

Astor’s (Fran Kranz) happy tenacity spoils his one chance at love with his lifelong crush Mila (Beau Garrett). Convinced he needs more experience with women to win her back, he engages her ex-best friend Cali (Dichen Lachman) to teach him how to woo women. Together they dissect his failings, and Astor makes his awkward pick-up attempts. As Astor begins to juggle multiple opportunities, he discovers the source of the rift between Cali and Mila, and the trio is forced to confront their conceptions about love.
