So if you already made plans this weekend, I suggest you cancel them. I was trying to find a nice little project for myself, when I stumbled across this gem on the internet. The BBC blueprints on how to build a Dalek! WARNING! This is not a project for the faint of heart. You will definitely need to have some “do-it-yourself” know how to complete this one.

Apparently, there was a Doctor Who fan back in the 80′s by the name of Ronald that wrote to the productions team asking for the DIY build plans of a Dalek. What he got in return was a response letter along with a copy of the blueprints that were originally released in 1973. I wonder if they would release some sonic screwdriver blueprints if I asked them nicely…

If you’re feeling up to the task, and you have some woodworking and metalworking skills, then I highly encourage you to try this one out. Maybe create your own army of Daleks and scare all your neighbors. If you do decide to take this project on, definitely send in some pictures! I’d love to see your Dalek creation!
