Trailer Trash Heap: The Ledge, Road to Nowhere & More

Hola, Geekscapists. Yours truly, Kyle Kriner as always. A happy belated Cinco De Mayo and Mother’s Day. I think there’s plenty of trailers this week to make up for both holidays. And even if you don’t think so, I know my mommy will love it. Asta la vista, baby!

Intruders

Of course I can’t understand a word, but this one freaked me out right away. I was very pleasantly surprised with how exciting this trailer was. Does anyone else find the girl with the tutu really creepy?

Cameraman: The Life and Work of Jack Cardiff

To a film buff, this might be all old news, but this is great stuff for anyone interested in movies and Hollywood to know.

Saviors In The Night

For some reason, I knew before I even watched the trailer it would be a WW2 movie. They always have the coolest titles, sometimes for the most boring looking movies. But this one looks interesting. I’m hoping there is enough suspense to keep this one moving along.

Road To Nowhere

I don’t even know what to think on this one. And I guess that’s the point. If that’s enough to make you guys check it out, but I don’t think I’m on board.

Page One: Inside The New York Times

Wow, I thought maybe we were gonna get something a bit quirky or something with a bunch of facts and numbers, but it looks like we may just be in for a treat. The newspapers are fighting back. Just one of the many things I thought I’d never hear myself say.

The Ledge

I like the idea of Phonebooth with a backstory. Not only that, but it looks like an awesome backstory, and I can only hope it leads to something insane at the end. By the way, I’m loving Patrick Wilson as the Bible thumping freak.

Thunder Soul

Saying “Jamie Foxx Presents” at the beginning doesn’t make this anymore appealing to me, so I’m hoping the story can stand on its own. We shall see.

The Tree Of Life

I guess we’ve all learned to expect the unexpected from Bradd Pitt. And then they throw Sean Penn into it?? It looks like something different for him. Man, I’m super excited for this one.

Martha Marcy May Marlene

This one looks crazy. I thought the title was a bit off putting at first, but once I saw the context I let it go. I can’t wait to see how this one plays out.

Conan The Barbarian

Well it sure ain’t Arnold, but does that make it better or worse? Either way, we’ve got some cool CGI, tons of action (hopefully), and lots of blood. I don’t think anyone will be able to resist this one.

Buck

It looks like this could be a real treat if the trailer is portraying it correctly. Who ever thought you could learn so much from horses?

Colombiana

God, I love Zoe Saldana. Does it really get any better than this???

The Beaver

I guess it’s good to see that Jodie Foster hasn’t lost hope in Mel. The movie actually looks quite good, and if talking to a beaver is what Mel needs, then who am I to judge?

Retreat

I’m already digging the premise, the tension and mood are both there, and there’s plenty of mystery in this trailer to make us wonder where they’re going with it. I’m with this one so far.

Julia’s Eyes

Would have been nice to have some subtitles. I know even though the tension should have been enough to interest me, it didn’t do it this time. It’s Del Torro, so I may be selling it short, but you guys can be the judge.

Project Nim

This is too cute. These people literally got to live my childhood dream of raising a chimp. But when I grew up and realized they tend to rip people’s faces off, I became a bit more apprehensive. Still, this one looks worth a look.
