Trailer Trash Heap: Mother’s Day, Final Destination 5, & More!

Kyle Kriner here with The Heap! More and more summer comedies are sliding into the list, and we’re getting some really nice action flicks here and there as well. Not to mention some fun looking suspense/horror films. This week we have a very well rounded heap. Truly something for everyone. I say that a lot, but I really mean it this week. Enjoy!!

Final Destination 5

Wait a minute. Wasn’t the last one called “The Final Destination”? I sure am confused.

The Skin I Live In

I don’t really even know what to say with this one. I’m sure it will be good fun for all you Banderas fans.

35 And Ticking

This movie looks to tread some slightly familiar ground, and it is kind of hard for me to see Kevin Hart as the middle-aged married grown-up. Even though he may be in real life. But I do like him as a comedian, so hopefully this one plays to his talents.

Rejoice And Shout

Never been a big fan of gospel music, but you can’t deny its role in American music. This one is a must see for any music lover.

Real Steel

Once in a while a trailer comes along that surprises me and completely knocks my socks off. That’s what happened with Real Steel. The concept is fresh, the effects are awesome, and the trailer is epic. Can’t wait to see this one.

Viva Riva!

Though trying hard to make an interesting trailer, this one falls flat for me. Maybe the acting performances can bring this one to life, but at first glance it’s not for me.

Horrible Bosses

God, I can’t get enough of these Jason Bateman bromantic movies. A bunch of middle-aged idiots gang up to kill their bosses. I’m loving the idea, and I’m loving all the familiar faces on screen. This looks like a treat.

Mother’s Day

Honestly I would have loved for this to have come out a week or two ago, to be in sync with Mother’s Day, but oh well. I like the suspension they’re building and the creepiness of the mother is enough to make you tingle. Take your mommies out for a good time with this one.

Straw Dogs

An Americanized remake of the Peckinpah classic, I like James Marsden in the mild mannered, Dustin Hoffman, role here, and I really like where they’re going with this. Nothing super original, but I think we’ll get some great suspense, and some good action out of it.
