William Castle would be proud: A new horror movie that calls audience members on their cell phones!

In this trailer/promotional video for the film Last Call, a generically gravel-voiced narrator details how the new film includes at least one scene in which the protagonist is on the run from the killer and phones a friend for help. An audience member is then selected at random (they provide their cell phone numbers before the screening), and then - "using voice-recognition technology" - they interact with the events on-screen to help the protagonist avoid being murdered.

It sounds like a neat gimmick, but the film looks pretty rudimentary and the interaction appears to be limited to "Turn left," "Run up the stairs," and other basic directional commands. It also appears to be in German, so who knows when we're going to be able to see it in the States, although it would be pretty funny if they released it anyway:

LADY GAGA (Ringtone): "Stop callin'... Stop callin'... I don't wanna think anymore... I left my head and my heart on the dance flo...!"

BEEP.

"Hello?"

"Link oder recht?"

"What? Speak English!"

"Link oder recht?!"

STAB STAB STAB.

"Damned foreigners with their stabby accents... Go back to Russia, you Mexican!"

BEEP.
