Steven Spielberg, DreamWorks TV and Fox TV are close to finalizing a deal to develop Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez' critically acclaimed comic book series Locke & Key into a television series. Attached to the project are the producing team of Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek) and writer Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles). According to Variety, the property will be shopped around to networks soon with Fox and NBC as the front-runners. Awesome! As a fan from the first issue, I couldn't be more excited about this news. This is literally a "Dream" team. Sarah Connor Chronicles was one of my favorite show during its run. I always felt that it was masterfully woven into the Terminator mythology. If Friedman brings the same quality of storytelling to Locke & Key, I'm sure it will prove to be a successful, true and unique adaptation. Plus, you can't go wrong with Spielberg attached. All this show needs now is an amazing cast and extremely visionary art direction. I look forward to hearing more news and the details get locked down.

Fox has committed to a series based on the outstanding IDW comic book Locke & Key. Eying a possible summer run, 20th Century Fox, DreamWorks TV and K.O. Paper Products are forging ahead with the project. Although Steven Spielberg was attached to the venture early on, he will no longer be a executive producer.
It will be interesting not only to see the cast shape up, but also which network will pick up the show.
Check out IDW's article on the subject for more info.
