First - the bit we've already known for a while - the "5th season" of Doctor Who will officially air on BBC1 / BBC HD on Saturday, April 3rd. And now for something quite different - Doctor Who is finally, getting a video game! The series has been absent from video games for almost 10 years, however that's about to change, as Nintendo and the BBC have confirmed a £10m / $15m hook-up to bring the time traveller to the Wii console - I wonder if this'll mean a Sonic Screwdriver-esque Wii remote?

The idea that Doctor Who hasn't had a video game in 10 years is not entirely true. There have been a few video games developed by the BBC as flash games available on the BBC web page. They consisted of a couple of action games, and one adventure game.

I don't own a wii, but I'd love to see a more robust Adventure game for the PC, something along the lines of Syberia or The Longest Journey
