David Fincher's Heavy Metal movie back on? James Cameron and Zack Snyder on board?!

Mike Fleming at Deadline Hollywood has an update on Fincher's long-proposed animated Heavy Metal film. Not a remake per se, since Heavy Metal Magazine was always a series of shorts, the new anthology film would feature several segments from prominent directors including - as is now rumored - James Cameron and Zack Snyder. Fincher's head difficulty getting this film off the ground, but if Cameron really is on board then there should be a few dump trucks filled with cash money on their way to Fincher offices as we speak.
Oh yeah, and it will be in 3D. Obviously...
