‘Kingsman’, ‘Kick-Ass’ Director Matthew Vaughn In Talks For ‘Flash Gordon’!

Briefly: Matthew Vaughn is pretty hot right now. Kingsman: The Secret Service was both critically acclaimed and financially successful, and THR reports that the director may have found his follow up: Flash Gordon.

Vaughn’s no stranger to beloved geek properties, of course, directing both Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class prior to Kingsman, and I definitely think he could be a good fit here.

Not familiar with the property? THR notes that “Gordon is the adventurer first created in 1934 by iconic artist Alex Raymond. The hero, along with the lovely Dale Arden and mad scientist Hans Zasrkov, ends up on the planet Mongo fighting its tyrannical ruler, Ming the Merciless.”

The script was written by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay.

Nothing is official at this point of course, but we’ll be sure to let you know if we hear any additional info about the project. Would you be into Vaughn directing the feature? Is there anyone else you’d rather see in the director’s chair? Sound out below!
