Geekscape Comics: Best Bets for 10/12/16

It’s that wonderful time of the week again, new comic book day! Choosing what to read can be daunting (and expensive!). Don’t worry though, Geekscape has you covered. Each week we give our best bet for a comic book that you’re sure to enjoy. Let’s get into it.

Honorable Mentions

WOW! This might be the most exciting week for comic book releases this year! So many awesome titles are being releases this week. Tons worth mentioning from Image Comics we have The Fix #6, The Black Sunday Murders #3 (wait to read this in trade), Kill Or Be Killed #3 (most weeks this would be what I’m most excited for), and something new from Mark Millar… but we’ll get to that later.

All-Star Batman continues with issue #3 and The Batman/Nightwing/Detective Comics crossover, Night of the Monster Men concludes with Detective Comics #942. I’m even a little excited for Red Hood and the Outlaws #3 too.

Marvel is introducing a new hero this week in Mosaic #1 which is worth checking out but not something I’m particularly excited for.

The Clone Conspiracy #1
📝 Dan Slott
🎨 Jim Cheung

“DEAD NO MORE”: The Jackal is back and has conquered death. The Amazing Spider-Man is outmatched by his classic enemy’s army. Does the wall-crawler stand a chance? SHOULD he stand in The Jackal’s way if he’s found the key to eternal life?

Ignore the negative connotations the word ‘clone’ carries when it comes to Spider-Man, Dan Slott knows what he’s doing. The issues leading up to this event have been stellar so hopefully that momentum can carry into issue #1. With an opportunity for any dead character to make an appearance, it’s going to be interesting to see how far Slott takes it.

Reborn #1
📝 Mark Millar
🎨 Greg Capullo

MARK MILLAR & GREG CAPULLO join forces to create the smash hit sci-fi / fantasy story of the year: REBORN. Where do you go when you die? Not heaven or hell; somewhere else. Somewhere you have to fight to survive. Somewhere the people from the past are waiting for you—the good and the bad.

Oh baby, something new from Mark Millar! Will a movie be far behind? Read that plot description! We have a cool concept and an awesome creative team! What more could you ask for? Pick this title up, it’s gonna be good!
