Five New Pokémon Revealed At Gamescom, Pokémon World Championships

Last week was packed with opportunities to reveal new Pokémon with Gamescom and the Pokémon World Championships both taking place. And by golly, that is exactly what Nintendo did. The Gamescom trailer was released first and featured only one Pokémon, Turtonator. Here is the trailer:

turtonator

Turtonator is a Fire/Dragon-type and knows a unique move, Shell Trap. The move sets a trap at the beginning of the round and if Turtonator is hit with a physical attack in that same turn, Shell Trap will deal a large amount of damage to the opposing Pokémon.

The trailer shown at the Pokémon World Championships showcased four new monsters, unlike the Gamescom’s one. Let’s go through them one by one:

crabrawler

Crabrawler is a Fighting-type, not a Water-type like its appearance may suggest (what with the crab/lobster thing going on). It can have the ability Hyper Cutter or Iron Fist.

sandygast palossand

Here we have Sandygast and its evolution, Palossand. Both are Ghost/Ground-types and have the ability Water Compaction, which will raises its Defense stats by 2 for the duration of the battle every time it is hit with a Water-type move. This ability is unique to Sandygast and Palossand.

stufful

And then there is Stufful, the pre-evolution of the previously revealed Bewear (Kiteruguma in Japan). Like Bewear, it is a Normal/Fighting-type.
