So I haven’t read a comic in about two years. I want to get back into it soon. I know that I’ll go back to Amazing Spider-man, Chew and Morning Glories. Is there anything else I should be keeping my eye open for?

Hellraiser and Fatale.

I’ve been short on dough so I’ve been reading trades at Barnes and Noble. Looking to get back into some more obscure comics and some capes & cowls stuff. Currently reading Chew, Locke & Key & Walking Dead…

Mark Waid’s Daredevil has been fantastic! Scott Snyder’s Batman is insane! Superheros! I love ’em!
I did read the new Adventure Time comic in bed last night out loud with voices. Laura was laughing through the first few pages of it… then she hated me. I started saying “hi” to all the little extra characters drawn in each panel… They’re my best friends…

I just found my dads original first edition print of Stranger in a Strange land. I missed the fucking competition

i second Daredevil & Batman, and will throw in Wolverine & The X-Men and Animal Man as should be reading superhero books.
Fantastic Four and FF are solid too, but they’re not really in a good-time-to-jump-on spot. you’d need to go back quite a ways in the current arcs.

I too would like to endorse Batman, and Animal Man. I also think Aquaman and Wonder Woman and Swamp Thing have been standouts. If you like Grant Morrison, checkout Action Comics and Batman Inc. And if you like books where the art alone is worth the price of admission, Batwoman, the Flash and I,Vampire are a pleasure to look at.

Does anyone recommend any of the DC 52 stuff? I am waiting for the megalithic event that changes everything back to the previous time line. Has it been a year already?

…little late on this reply, sorry about that.
But in answer to your question Origin_X; yeah! I recommended 9 titles that kicked off with the new52, in the post above yours.
I’m still reading them and still enjoying them.
Infact I’d throw in a few more, with Aquaman, Nightwing, Batgirl, Batman and Robin, Catwoman, Green Lantern all being very good, particularly in the last few months.
A couple of the second wave books like Earth2 and Dial H have been very impressive on debut I’m also looking forward to what Jeff Lemire does with Justice League: Dark
So yeah, I’m really enjoying the new52, and I’m buying way more books than I previously was. I think it’s a good thing.
I’m also reading Saga by Brian K Vaughn which is awesome and on Jonathan’s recommendation I’ve just started Mark waid’s run on Daredevil.

More than two years ago, but have you read Y: The Last Man? It’s probably my favourite series of all time, and is nearly perfect in my opinion.
Also (I’m not sure if this is within two years or not), but The Sword is really really great!

So of course CaptainK17 is reading Saga… right!?!
What about Sweet Tooth!?!

Saga is great, I can barely imagine where it’s gonna go.
Despite it’s slow boil I am liking Thief of Thieves.

I have not checked out either of those yet. But I will be heading down to the Comic store on payday based on your reccomendation.
So if they suck I’m boycotting the podcast.
Not really though.

Saga is the shit.

In all honesty, I’m amazed you’ve been listening all these years. And honored. Thank you.

It’s simply probably the most entertaining podcast I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to.
I very much look forward to every show, and have found a ton of things that I now love based on everyone’s recommendations.
I’ve jumped in and out of the community as life has had its ups and downs, but man, this show is just consistently great.
Thanks a ton!

Just finished issue one of Saga.
Hooked already. Seems like BKV could probably shit in a bag and I’d think it was amazing.

It’s what we’re here for, Cap. It’s what we’re here for.
I picked up another slew of books today. Is anyone reading “The Strain”? Vampire book from Del Toro that Dark Horse is putting out. Issue 5 hit this week. I’m starting to enjoy it as it hits it’s stride. Might be way better in trade paperback, like “Scalped” which is one of my favorites.

I need to make more money.
There’s so much stuff that I want to read!
June 15, 2012 at 8:41 pm
Also been meaning to check out scalped since you recommended it way back.
