I’m sure you guys have seen the news that Marvel has (finally) updated their Digital Comics Unlimited subscription service, and made it compatible with mobile devices.

I’m thinking about picking it up, as a 12 month subscription is currently on sale for $60! I was curious whether anyone who frequents these parts have used the service in the past, and what their thoughts on it are?

They state that their are over 13’000 back issues, and since I was out of the comics game from about 2000-2010, I figure there would be a lot of stuff there that would appeal to me.

Anyone who is using the service, how about recommending some books for those who want to get in!?

Well, they also are offering 700 FREE issue #1’s via Comixology til tomorrow. Some Marvel must reads:

    – Astonishing X-Men #1 – 25 and Giant Size. Whedon wrote some of the best X-Men work.

-The entrie 2008 Guardians Of The Galaxy and NOVA runs.

    – Greg Rucka’s recent Punisher run all the way through War Zone.

    – Spider Man: Reign

    – The Immortal Iron Fist. The first part of this written by Fraction and Brubaker is awesome.

    – The entire Ultimate Spider-Man series rules to me. But, it’s not for everyone.

    – X-Factor. Anything X-Factor.

    You’re the man Shawn!

I’m really looking forward to checking out the older Ultimate Spider-Man, I’ve read the new series since issue #1, and absolutely love it!

My car is going in tomorrow for some work, and the cost of that determines whether or not I get the subscription now, or next payday!

I also don’t have a lot of experience with Guardians of the Galaxy, so that’s near the top of my list too!

I’ve played around with the app a bit, and though it has some speed issues, I’m sure that they’ll be cleared up in due time!

    Thanks for the recommendations!
