Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch’s ‘The Ultimates’ has got to be one of my fav’s for sure. It’s one of the comics that got me back into comics about 8 years ago. I can reread those ones and never get bored with them.

I’m going to go another direction while the boys are jerking all over guys in tights books and say that if you haven’t read “Blankets” by Craig Thompson or “Essex County” by Jeff Lemire, YOU’VE BEEN WASTING YOUR FUCKING MONEY AND YOUR EYEBALLS! JEEEZUS F’ING CHRIST PEOPLE!!!! ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE HAPPY! ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE HAPPYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!
Oh… and the stuff the guys recommended IS really great. Crazy that Winter Soldier is a better book than Cap!!!
Oh yeah. If you like Hellboy/Mike Mignola/BPRD, the two Baltimore trades are fantastic! KILL ALL OF THE VAMPIRES!!! KILL THEM ALLLLL!!!!

Jon was beat up a lot as a child….some of that has to do with Archie being his favourite comic.

I loved Blankets, I really must read it again. I recently read some of his other work Habibi. It’s really good too, but depressing and a little weird.

Sounds like I have a lot to read!
My top series of all time has to be Y: The Last Man – I devoured it. I probably reread it every 6-8 months. It’s freaking brilliant and it has resonated with me more than anything else has!

If you like Y: The Last Man then you need to check out Brian K. Vaughan’s latest series Saga. It’s only a few issues in but damn is it good.

I’ve also got to give a shout-out to Scott Pilgrim just because I absolutely love the series. They already got my money once and will be getting it again when the series is re-released in color starting next month.

Also love Scott Pilgrim. I can’t believe how much I laughed at that book, and I saw so much of my awkward self in him. Great read.

I bought an advanced copy of it at SDCC and got Bryan Lee O’Malley to sign it. This will be something I try to do with each volume of the re-release.

That’s awesome. I already own them all, but it would be super cool to see them in color!

Probably my all-time favourite is TRANSMETROPOLITAN by Warren Ellis!

I’ve heard nothing but good things about Transmetropolitan. It’s on my list to read, but sadly I haven’t yet!
