So what the computer is saying is… REPORT ANY BUGS YOU FIND ON THE SITE AND MOBILE VERSIONS HERE (and Serverbot will eat them)!

    Seeing a few bugs now!

    Images below!

Main forums page is looking like this:

Going into each forum lists first a bunch of threads from serverbot.

On mobile, Community main page is doing this for me:

As you can see: Posts/Topics/Freshness is all kind of overlapping.

Going into any thread, the text is all looking like this:

Bugs?!!? What kind of show are we running here? First bugs, then cooties? Ewwww

  • July 9, 2012 at 7:07 pm

Okay so I found out why all of them had Serverbot listed on the the main forum page. Looks like the updated made the “Geeksacpe Forum Rules” the first topic in each topic list. I’m running into the same problem as Capt is where it is overlapping things.

for the record… it’s cooter… if you think that’s cooties you’re doing it wrong.

Cooties is what I was afraid of getting when I was 6, Cooter is what I strive to get as an adult.

    HA!

Also I also just wanted to say that this site is being run with some hint of ITIL services in mind when documenting changes, bugs, Incidents etc. regarding this website, although I kind of think this should be housed outside of the site itself because if you tracking system is built right inside the thing you’re monitoring you have an immediate single point of failure… just sayin’ :)

I have no idea what any of that meant but let’s just pretend I do and I’ll say “Great point Satori”!!!

THANK YOU FOR THE HOME SCREEN ICON

Still getting overlap while my phone is vertical for the Topics/Posts/Freshness area on the main forum page, as well as when going into a forums. Landscape does not have this issue (and yes the cache has been cleared)

I hope you were dressed as one of the GI Joe’s when you wrote that.

If it helps you have a happy ending, then yes, that’s exactly how I was dressed. ;)

    @Satori
I put up a changelog post so you guys knew something had changed and we could get some Geekscapists eyes on it quickly. Many other changes and fixes go out without a notice (like the signature spacing bug I’ll fix tonight) but, I like to give you peeps a heads up with the big features.

If you all think it’ll help with forum clutter I can make a changelog forum and post them all to there?

@yay Paul, Honestly I’m good either way. From an ITIL point of view I think it’s only necessary to send out notifications if an outage is expected, or it is likely to occur… This is what I would do in an Enterprise environment anyway. For this place I kind of think writing it on a coaster is a good idea. I personally wouldn’t worry about it too much other than to let people know you’re going to drop the site for an hour. People get nervous about it dropping for a few days on end. Anyway, you don’t have to do anything I’m suggesting, I’m just suggesting. :)

It seems like when I log in (on any device), as soon as I start progressing through pages, I get logged out again unless I hit refresh. Anyone else finding this?

  • July 23, 2012 at 10:42 pm

@Satori If the site went down for more than an hour a zombie Mr London would be scraping at my door :)

@captainK17 I’m not noticing any issues. Do you have any privacy plugins installed?

I am always a zombie. You’d get the ghost London… AND HE MOVES THROUGH WALLS (and may or may not watch you as you sleep).
