Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci To Write Amazing Spider-Man 2

Tuesday 24th April 2012 by Scott Alminiana

The folks over at THR are reporting that Sony Pictures has hired the screenwriting duo of Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to write ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2.” For those of you  unfamiliar with Kurtzman & Orci, as if you geeks don’t actually know who they are, they have written some of the most popular blockbusters (not always a good thing) of the last 5 years. Their credits include, 2009’s “Star Trek” reboot, Mission Impossible 3, the abomination known as “Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen,” the sleeper movie (in my case, literally) “Cowboys & Aliens,” and are the co-creators of Fox’s “Fringe.”

“The Amazing Spider-Man” swings onto movie screen’s July 3.

MI:3 was great, StarTrek was coherently great, Cowboys&Aliens script is great, and same goes for fringe & HI5-0. These two on Spiderman will be something, very much so, to be looking forward to!

I heard that Mission Impossible 3 was excellent. I watched part of Cowboys vs. Aliens too and it seems like a really fresh and new idea with a lot action in it, which is what I liked about it. As far as Transformers, I liked the seconds movie. It wasn’t ridiculously long and still had more comedy than the first movie and just the right amount of action. If this pair has been able to do all that, I think taking a crack at Spidey is a great idea! I mean, the reboot for Spider Man looks great based on the trailers, especially since it is based on the comic books (which I love since they’re actually trying to make him funny). I can’t wait to see what they’ll do with the sequel. I hope to see the Amazing Spider-Man in theaters soon!
